Shopping Cart

Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve come over for lunch on Christmas Day. Ofcourse they came baring gifts. Austin opened his first, Lincoln Logs, a huge hit. Ryan opened his next, Giggle and Go Race Track, loved it. Layla was next, a very cool metal play shopping cart. The paper came off and the face fell. "I don't want that." Present pushed away, little girl with a huge frown. Sad mom and sad grandma.

Grandma talks about returning present and finding something else. Time passes. Out of nowhere Layla asks to open her shopping cart. "I want to keep it now." Adults debate...will she change her mind again in ten minutes? Once it is open we can't return it...we finally decide to open it and let her play with it.

Everyone LOVES the shopping cart. It has become the favorite toy of all times. Good job grandma!!

Our little friend Mikayla came over and got to play in the shopping cart. Isn't she adorable!

Christmas Eve Jammies

We have one tradition in our house. Every Christmas Eve we get to open one [present from under the tree. What the kids don't really understand yet, is that it is always jammies. We put them on before bed, then when we wake up Christmas morning we have new jammies on! It is a tradition that Jason's family had and we have continued and we love it!

Ryan's Ball

Ryan got this ball from Grandma and Grandpa Crowl. As you can tell, HE LOVES IT!!! He carries it everywhere. In his hand, in his mouth, on his toes...So cute!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we had Jason's family over for dinner. They brought some delicious food and we had a good time. We all got to open a few presents.

The kids each got a blanket from Grandma and Grandpa that they loved and slept with that night.

Austin got a huge bin of dinosaur foamies and a hat and some picture frames that he started decorating as soon as his present was open.

Layla got a beautiful dress that Aunt Katie made. She also got a game from Grandma and Grandpa that she wanted to play right away!

Finished Project

These are the finished pictures of the work Jennilyn did in Layla's room. It is incredible! She is going to love it.

We have been keeping the doors locked, but Austin went in there one night. He came out with this huge grin on his face and said, "Someone painted that room! Did you see it? Who did that?"

We had to remind him to keep secrets!

Hole in the Wall

One day I said to my husband..."I would like you to cut this wall down." He looked at me as if I had two heads.

A few days later I was at my friends house and saw that she had that wall missing, just like I wanted. I got out my handy-dandy cell phone and took a bunch of pics. I showed them to my husband and said "See, I am not crazy. Now I want you to do that."

Well, little did I know that he would start the project that night.

It is mostly done now, we need to finish painting the stairwell walls, and stain the banister, but otherwise it is done.

The picture of Layla is so you can see how it started, look behind her!

I don't know if I like it or not. It is not what I wanted and I really want honest opinions!

I have a closet!

Most of you know that we haven't had a closet for months now. Our house is a disaster because all of our stuff is everywhere. These are the before and during pictures. After he had it all framed out he put up the one center piece of drywall and hung the TV. That is how is was for a few weeks. It still isn't finished inside, but hopefully soon.

Loud Noises

Jason has been doing a lot of construction around our house...This is the adorable face we get to see when ever he is making a lot of noise sanding or sawing. Isn't he CUTE!!!

Dress-up

Who can resist a big bag full of dress-up clothes...apparently, not one of my kids can.

Aunt Allison gave Layla a huge bag of dress-up clothes. All of the kids dug in and tried them on. Jason wasn't really happy with his boys dressing up and became even more frustrated when I pulled out the camera! Little does he know that I am posting the pictures on the blog for all to see. But they are just so cute!!!

Layla's Christmas Present

For Christmas this year we are separating Layla and Austin. They have been in the same room for the last two years and we have decided to let them each have their own room for a little while. Once Ryan is out of the crib he will move into Austin's room. I think that kids need to share rooms, but Austin and Layla are just getting too old to be together.

Anyway, so this is the room that we are moving Layla into...it was orange. We had Jennilyn Landbeck come and paint it for us.

I LOVE IT!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Thank Heavens for retakes!

My new dress

This post is for my sister Mandy. I bought a new dress a little while ago and I wanted her to see it! I finally made Jason take a picture of me in it this Sunday.

Layla's First Day of School

So Layla is going to a preschool at the local high school. It is actually a class that the high school students take and they learn about child development. The first day I went with Layla. She absolutely hated it. She was overwhelmed by all of the teenagers that were in the class. There are 5 children and 18 teenagers, plus a teacher. She has since loved it and thrives in all of the attention that she gets.

Pumpkin patch

You have to love Ryan's face in this picture....Um, what on earth are you doing to me?

Yes, I do know that it is December and only 16 days until Christmas. Which is why I need to get my pumpkin patch pictures on the blog. I need to get all caught up before I have Christmas pics to put up! And how could I not post these pictures? They are adorable!!

Uncombable Hair lives on!

Even with his hair cut, Ryan's hair can still be out of control. Isn't he adorable!

No, I didn't do it!

One day, not too long after I cut Layla's hair (incase you have forgotten I waited 18months for it to grow out to all be one length). Anyway, a few days after cutting it I am sitting on the couch and I look over and see that her hair is uneven...in fact, she has bangs!! I got really mad and demanded, "DID YOU CUT YOUR HAIR?!?!?!?"

"No, I didn't cut it...Austin did."

Like that made it okay! I was livid. I was on the phone with Jason at the time and had to get off the phone to yell!

I have finally gotten over it enough to post it! Can you believe it though, Layla just sat there and let him cut her hair like it was no big deal!

He kissed me goodnight!

We went to the Stake Gala last night. I wore my black and white dress. I actually wore the little black velvet jacket the whole time because it was pretty chilly. We made Jason's sister take some pictures of us before we left just like we were kids in high school. It was fun.

We danced and they had lots of yummy food.

LOTS of people complimented me on my cute dress! Thanks everyone for helping me choose.

Oh, I painted my toenails red and Jason wore a red tie. That was all I had time for!

Then after the dance when he took me home...he kissed me goodnight!!!

Spiderman 3

We had some friends stay with us for four weeks. There is a little boy Austin's same age. They spent the majority of the four weeks in their costumes. Spiderman and Venom were sometimes friends and sometimes enemies. The boys would get mad becuse we occasionally made them take the costumes off to wash.

Hay-ride

We went on a hay ride to pick out pumpkins.

This is obviously pre-haircut!

Ballet and tap

Layla is taking a ballet and tap class this year. It consists of 10 little girls ages 2-5. They are so funny and adorable! She fell on her bottom twice in the first tap class.
