Apples!!

A week or so ago we went to the apple farm and picked apples. We took a small ride out to the trees. The farm had three different kinds of apples growing.
These were the red delicious. There were so many apples!

We got a giant box full.
I didn't really think about what we were going to do with all of these apples. My kids like apples and eat them all the time. But 20pounds of apples sure is a lot! I decided to make applesauce.
I found a recipe on line. 4 apples chopped, 1/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup water, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Throw it all in a crockpot on high for three hours and you have applesauce.

This is the first batch of applesauce, with cinnamon in it.

Of course I had to sample it. Hot applesauce on vanilla ice cream, delicious!

This is the second batch of applesauce without cinnamon.

"More applesauce, please, Mom!"

The fireplace is on the left side of the room. It has been there for quite a while...I should have you over more!

Isn't my table cloth nice...you can't see the permanent marker at the angle I took that picture!
